What should I paint to symbolize the birth of my daughter?

I tried posting this yesterday, but got no responses. I figured I'd give it another go. I personally think symbology is really interesting; I just want some feedback.

When my son was born, I painted birth announcements bearing the symbol of Kokopelli, a symbol of fertility, birth and lightheartedness. I'm going to give birth to a baby girl in April and would like to paint birth announcements again. I'm having trouble with what symbol I'd like to be the focal point. I've been thinking a flower of some sort, to be more feminine. I've looked online for ideas, but haven't come up with much. I've thought of a lotus, but I'm getting mixed messages about the meanings for the different colors. I don't know that any of them will translate very well to "birth". I'm open to any suggestions, even nontradional ones. Thank you!

How about a painting of one of the goddesses of fertility?

I also really like the lotus idea.
Reply:How about a calla lily?
Reply:I know that the totem animal for birth is a hippopotamus. Coincidentally, you could go with more pretty comical hippos like from the Fantasia movie, or realistic ones, or even have a custom tribal hippo head done or something like that). The totem link is here:

Perhaps you could do a tree of life with a butterfly on/near it for your daughter (a butterfly is a well-known symbol of birth and change). The butterfly could be in different colors (color meanings can be found by doing a simple google or yahoo search). The actual tree could be your own birth tree (try http://www.geocities.com/SoHo/Cafe/8021/... to find out your birth tree).

A more traditional birth symbol (according to Sheila Kitzinger) which has been used in different cultures around the world for centuries in art and textiles etc can be found at: http://www.everyday-miracles.com/logo.ht... . It's quite beautiful, maybe you could have the butterfly concept somehow incorporated into it.

A cherry blossom sounds good too. I am getting one tattooed to symbolize my pregnancy and birth of my son.
