Homework assignment?
How about a scenthound (like the Bloodhound or Beagle) versus a sighthound (like the Greyhound or Whippet)?
You could talk about what they're bred to do, why they're built differently, how the long ears and loud voices of the scenthounds are helpful when hunting with them, why the sleek aerodynamics of the sighthounds is beneficial for their job?
Reply:I guess it would be your preference. Do you want to talk about dogs the entire paper or would you like to talk about flowers? I think there is more to write about to use the flowers - colors, shapes, smell, how they are used, etc. :)

Reply:compare an open window with a small cracked and borded up window. it has great symbolizim. while they both let you see out into the world the closed window makes you feel trapped and lonely. you obsereve the life around you without living it. the open window is a gateway to adventure and exploring the world. you can open the window and let the air in around you instead of feeling trapped.

Reply:Think HArd grab a piece of paper write down as many facts as you know about each topic compare these what do you know best? Decide and then write about that! If you make sure you know your topics well then the essay will be better and its easier to write a good complete essay when you have more to write and if you know the topic well this won't be a problem! GOOD LUCK hope you get a good grade!
And if you find that you know about the same on each topic and still can't decide then go with the flowers; too many people write about dogs flowers are a more unique topic

labs eat a lot and are lazy and were bred to help out fishers
Retrievers only retrieve and basically seem to stay fit no matter what lol
Reply:try to get the better grade. go with something hard (not to hard). go with two dogs that are mixed (ex golden Shepard mixed with rott wierler and what ever).

Reply:Golden Retrievers and Labradors, whilst they do look alike, are TOTALLY SEPARATE BREEDS. Do some research on the net re their differences and similarities and I am sure you will be successful in your assignment.
Reply:If you're going to do dogs, do two dogs that aren't related at all. Labs and goldens are pretty similar.
Reply:Do your paper on the things you know the most about ... and while golden retrievers and labs do have many things in common, they also have many 'contrasting attributes' if you KNOW each of those breeds ... otherwise, I'd do the flowers, but perhaps you could choose one that is NOT EDIBLE and one that IS EDIBLE ... or some other 'widely separated' 'group of two things' ...
Reply:Dog's sounds like a great idea! They are all so different and interesting to learn about. How about a Pug and a Bull dog? I chose those dogs because they have very similar features, but if you do some research...totally different! Good luck on your paper. :)
Reply:LOL..i just did the same kind of paper like that about a month ago! I did living in the country vs. living in the city. Those two that you picked might be too hard because they are both flowers/dogs. If you choose mine..here are things to put in your essay..

It wasn't a very fun subject..but it is soo easy. I just typed stuff from my head in less than 20 min. %26amp; I got a 97% (A)
Reply:maybe you could do a border collie and a pug or something, 2 unlike dogs: border collies like to run, and pugs aren't known for running like border collies do.
Reply:they're not the same, very similar tho..it would be intresting to see the diffrences and likes of them...the flower vs. rose is cool
i would do a cicada vs. lotus tho but thats just me
Reply:Lotus flower vs. Rose. You can go into the cultural significance of each flower, physical differences, different places they survive, etc... I think there's a lot more to talk about with the flowers.
